The research of the Center of Excellence falls under the auspices of two interdisciplinary academic centers of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg with converging interests: The Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of the European Enlightenment (IZEA) and the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Pietism (IZP) as well as their staff, members and working groups.
Concentrating on a cluster of research themes, the Center of Excellence 'Enlightenment – Religion – Knowledge' strives after scholarly exchange with other colleagues at the Martin-Luther-University and elsewhere, especially universities outside of Germany and independent study centers.
